Detective
Eudora Patch

【Cop ♦ Homicide Detective 】

About

Eudora Patch is the daughter to a Nigerian-Swiss cop (now a retired Captain) father, and an English nurse mother. Back to her great grand parents those had been the roles. The men in the family were cops or firefighters, the women were doctors or nurses. It was just sort of how it was, how it was expected to be. Women were better at caring, Men were stronger. But from the age of three (when she wanted to be a cop for Halloween) Eudora had wanted to be on the force.

Her family looked like they supported her, but they didn't. Theoretically, they did, she had been brought up taught she could be anything she wanted to be. But in reality they supported her like a family might support a kid who wanted to be a president and an astronaut at the same time. They thought it was cute that she wanted to be a cop. A detective. Everyone sort of silently agreed she probably wouldn't be able to handle the stresses of the job. They were always offering to help her with what she really wanted to do, once she got over this whole police thing.

That sort of stopped when she passed in the Academy, she ranked extremely high in her class, and no matter what people whispered (special treatment because he father was a Captain) she knew she got there on her own merit.

She didn't blame them, not at all - they were from a world where women were caregivers and men were protectors. It just was how things were. But Eudora was determined to show them they were wrong about her.

She worked her way up the ranks, on her own skills, and she became a detective.
